The insufficient quality of the surface waters inspires the discussion about random sources of water pollution. The main sources of pollution of surface water are as follows: treated sewage and rainwater introduced into the receivers, usually without purification. A significant part of pollutants comprises of illegal sewage from households and runoffs from fertilized fields. The rainwater may carry high pollution loads. The aim of this study was to analyze the quality of rainwater in basin of Muzyczna st. in Lublin then introduced into the Bystrzyca River receiver. This analysis includes the quality of the water in the receiver, and compares the quality of rainwater and the water in the Bystrzyca River. During the study, BDO5 and COD values were described, and the mutual ratios of biodegradability were calculated. The study also determined the qualifications of particular water class quality. It took into consideration the volume ofprecipitation at the times of sample collecting. Correlating the pollution indicators of waste water and rain water with the water in the receiver allowed to determine the influence of weather on the quality of rainwater and the water in the Bystrzyca River. |
