The electron transfer from sensitizer molecule to TiO2 nanoparticule plays a very significant role in controlling the efficiency of Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC) and its better understanding is essential for the improvement of DSSC performance. In this work several sensitizers namely: catechol, 9-anthracenecarboxylic acid (9-ACA), all-trans retionic acid (ATRA) and all-trans bixin were studied in the context of application in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC). The authors analyzed absorption spectra at room temperature as well as absorption and electroabsorption spectra abtained by Stark spectroscopy at low temperatures. The main result of the spectroscopic method used is the dipole moment change which is the parameter providing quantitative information about the degree of instantaneous electron transfer that takes place in the course of the photon absorption. The highest value has been obtained for ATRA and it is about twice as much as that for other substances. |
