Coupling in dynamical systems and its probabilistic consequences

In literature connected with System Sciences one can observe a growing interest in description and analysis of so called multi-directional coupling between dynamics of distinct systems. This subject is a core of General System Theory and its investigation requires advanced methods. Inspired by Shannon and wiener's ideas introduced to Information Theory we propose a probabilistic approach based on Mutual Information (MI) concept which seems to be quite general and appropriate for these kind of problems. In particular, we show the relationship between MI and multi-coupling for the systems described by Ito's differential equations. |
