The paper presents the results of wind tunnel tests and CFD simulation of airfoils when additional active airflow on an airfoil upper surface. The CFD simulation of airfoils are positively verified in the tests in real conditions. First, several cases of models done in the ANSYS Fluent software and then the results of wind test tunnel research in real conditions are discussed. Different models of turbulence that are used in the CFD software are applied due to the difference between the lift and drag forces. The paper describes the models applied and the consequent differences in the results achieved. Several different airfoils are tested. The velocity of airflow around the models ranges from 12 to 28 m/s, and different angles of attack are used for each case. |
