For disposal of waste sewage sludge they were agglomerated in a hydraulic press to provide cylindrical-shaped briquettes. We produced the samples of waste in the amount of about 42% by weight mixed with crushed glass (about 50% by weight) and cement (about 8% by weight). The briquettes were heated in a laboratory chamber furnace (at 1050 degrees C, 1100 degrees C and 1150 degrees C) and cooled in water to get vitrified body. The results of mechanical tests (compressive strength-3.9 MPa, and resistance to gravitational drop-94,1%) as well the results of the performed tests of freeze resistance (1,2%), absorbability (14,4%) and leaching metals in aqueous extract were determined. Strength was sufficient in terms of assembly the requirements for materials to be used as a substitute aggregate for building industry (it was more than 2.5 MPa). There was no exceed the limits of hazardous substances contained in waste as well leaching of heavy metals in aqueous extract. So, we obtained environmentally safe products which can be used as a building material.
