More and more potential employers and other bodies indicate that graduate computer science cannot have only professional competence. The graduate must be able to function in the business environment. It is associated with the most important area of ICT application, it is the support of business processes management. In additional, a large part of computer science graduates start professional activity from the establish of their own company, providing various services in the field of ICT. The paper presents a decision simulation game (DSG), which is used to train the participants in the starting up and development of SME in the area of ICT services. During the game, the game participants must make decisions in the areas of marketing, development of employment and service capabilities, as well as prices and finance. The game was developed using a authoring system for the design and implementation of decision simulation games in Internet. This system allows defining a mathematical model of the game (with the use of System Dynamics methodology), a set of decision variables and outcomes, and setting the initial conditions of the game. The system architecture (web architecture with using of extended modules) is described in the article. The article presents a model training scenario using the game that involves the following activities: • introduction lecture (DSGs, game scenario), • team building, • introductory game, • game strategy building, • playing of the game, • summary of training. Some remarks from game already made are included in this paper. |
