The article presents a comparative analysis of the state of road transport safety in Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. According to the intention introduced in the White Paper on Transport, in the European Union are taken initiatives to improve transport safety and to reduce the number of road fatalities. Vehicle congestion and high risk of accidents result in disappointment of many drives and Public transport users, causing psychological tension and increasing the accident rate. The accident rate is one of key indicators that helps measuring processes of the transport system and its development. The article presents an analysis of the state of road transport safety in Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia in 2001 – 2013, on the basis of reports and statements of the relevant state bodies. The paper presents the different on road transport safety in these countries as well as selected aspects of improvement of road transport safety. |
