Computer science is one of the fields of key importance for knowledge-based economy. It enforces higher education must students with the necessary to enter the labor market competence. Therefore, in recent years University-industry cooperation has been significantly expanded at Lublin University of Technology (LUT). Plans of the collaboration with the ICT industry are several. In this paper main directions of development of such collaboration will be presented. The results of employee surveys will be presented. They are very precious and valuable source of information about the current market requirements and gaps in the competence and ICT skills of graduates in Computer Science. The conclusions of the meetings with industry representatives and program of practices and internships for students will also presented.
Nowadays LUT has the opportunity to strengthen cooperation with ICT specialists through the implementation of the project “Mega competent graduate computer science LUT closer to the demands of employers”. This project is co-financed by the European Union under the European Social Found. The main goal of the project is increase the level of adaptation of students competences to market requirements.
