Surgical instruments belong to an extensive group of medical makings. The complexity of human organism requires the usage of versatile utensils – both functional and geometrical. Their variety improves both the precision and comfort of the user; also, it has an enormous influen ce on the quality of sur-geries or treatments performed with them. The surgical instruments are characterized by the irregularity and complexity of their exploitation. Moreover, they are used in a chemically active environment and are subjected to high temperatures. This is why the production of the utensils requires rigorous control and the usage of specially selected materials, in order to gain indefectible tools[6]. When a surgeon is about to perform an operation, he must be certain his instruments will not fail. He is responsible for the life and health of a human being. His skills as well as the quality of the utensils have enormous influence on the success of the surgery. Each product has to be unfailing. The situation in which an instrument gets damaged during the operation is unacceptable. The possibility of fracture formation on the surface of grasping and, a fortiori, working parts of a utensil cannot be tolerated. This is why their exploitation reliability is one of the most important qualities of the medical equipment [4;6] |
