| The article demonstrated that mixture models composed of different types of probability distributions can be used to model economical and environment processes, biological functions or graphical data. The paper also gives a brief survey of algorithms designed for solving complex mixture models composed of several distributions. One of the most suitable methods is the Expectation-Maximization (EM) algorithm. Characteristic and improvements of EM are also presented. |
