Software in the era of omnipresent digitisation is an essential commodity for economic and social
activities. At the same time software is a digital product and can be delivered to the customer using
computer networks, bypassing traditional distribution channels. Similarly, a computer network can be
used for contacts between the various software development process stakeholders (end users,
systems analytics, designers, developers, testers, etc.). This, and the different labour costs and
availability of information technology professionals, influences the progressive internationalisation of
the software industry.
The paper presents the results of research carried out among computer science students to prove the
thesis: „Computer science students are ready to study in English and work in an international
environment, and have a positive attitude towards doing it”. The research was conducted using the
survey method. Students of three consecutive years of studies were covered by the research. This
allowed to present the research results in a dynamic context. The results of the studies’ additional
elements related to working in an international environment (such as the ability to put in extra effort
during the study or salary expectations) are presented in this paper.
