The work characterized selected methods of eliminating methane emissions to the atmosphere. A simplified method of determining the cleaning properties of a filter bed that stimulates the municipal landfill bed was proposed. Studies on the efficiency of leachate filtering were conducted on the example of a several selected pollution indices found in this medium. A function enabling to forecast the mass of pollutants in a filtrate (leachate from a filtering column) depending on the thickness of a filtering layer, mass of pollutants in the model leachate (artificially prepared) and the intensity of supplied leachates was described. The designated regression functions enable qualitative and quantitative estimation of the impact of the analyzed independent variables (m(d)',l,omega) on the mass of pollutants flowing out of a layer of medium-grained sand. The obtained results may be used for predicting the degree of soil and groundwater pollution in the potentially affected area of municipal landfill. |
