The UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Higher-Education Teaching Personnel, issued during the meeting on the 11 November 1997, stressed out the correlation between the advancement of higher education, including the studies programmes, as well as such factors as infrastructure and material resources, qualifications, experience and pedagogical and technical skills of higher-education teaching personnel. This correlation plays a vital role in the context of improving the education quality. The constant improvement and modernisation of the material resources and development of the teaching personnel competences should have a positive influence on the education quality improvement. In this context, the participation of the teaching personnel in the process of improvement seems to be of high importance. The assessment of the education process’ particular aspects quality, in line with pointing out the forms of aid expected from the university, may be a starting point in this process. The present article shows the results of the assessment concerning the forms of aid in the teaching process expected by the higher-education personnel. The survey was conducted at the Lublin University of Technology wihtin the framework of the assessement of the education process and its chosen elements. The obtained results indicate that, according to the University personnel, the most expected form of aid is providing them with the appropriate level material resources (handbooks, equipment, software). In addition, the conducted analyses have pointed out the correlation between the assessment of the selected elements of the education process and some forms of aid in teaching process. The obtained results and conclusions, together with descriptions of the proposed changes, may constitute a source of improvement in a widely-understood infrastructure and organisation of the education process.
