The article compares the analog and digital transmission between the sensor and the signal converter to a numerical value. The advantages and disadvantages of both solutions are given. Attention was drawn to the problem of attenuation and susceptibility to interference of analog transmission lines. A fairly complex digital transmission line was also introduced. This method of transmission usually requires additional transmitters and receivers for transmitting information. Intermediate solution is the transmission of measured data via a variable frequency signal. Many sensors converts the physical parameters directly into signal with the variable frequency. Frequency is a parameter which can be measured with high accuracy thanks to currently available electronic components as well as ready-to-measure measuring instruments. This signal is less susceptible to external electromagnetic fields. There is no need for additional processing into a signal capable of transmitting. It can be possible to simplify the data transmission system and process the variable frequency directly into numeric values that can be further analyzed in the personal computer or other controller. An example of the solution of a variable frequency signal processing system into its numerical values is shown. An analysis of the data conversion errors introduced by the proposed conversion system is presented. |
