Thestudyinvestigatestheeffectofeccentricloadonthestabilityandpostcriticalstatesofthin-walledCFRPchannelsectioncolumnsundercompression.Testspecimensaresubjectedtocompressiononatestingmachineprovidedwithafixtureforapplyingeccentriccompressiveloads.Loadingforces,deflectionandsrainsofthecolumnwallsandwebaremeasured.Theexperimentsalsoinvolveexaminationoftheoperatingperformanceofa structure undergoing buckling and determination of its postcritical equilibrium paths describing the relationshipbetweenloadanddeflection.Basedonexperimentalresults,numericalmodelsofcompositestructuresaredesignedandverifiedbytheFEM.Thescopeofthenumericalanalysisinvolvesperformingalinearanalysisofstability,whichallowsfordeterminingthebucklingmodedependingontheamplitudeofcompressiveloadeccentricityandcorrespondingcriticalloads.Thenextstageoftheanalysisinvolvesperforminganonlinearanalysisofthestructureswithimplementedgeometricimperfectionsreflectingthelowestbucklngmodes.Based on obtained results, postcritical equilibrium paths of the developed FEM models are determined.Obtainedequilibriumpathsarethencomparedwithexperimentalcharacteristicsofrealstructures.Thenumericalresultsandexperimentalfindingsshowasatisfactoryagreement. |
