Human emotions recognition is very important for developing the human-computer interaction systems. Known approaches, dealing with that issue, use such methods as k-nearest neighbours algorithm, support vector machine, decision trees or hidden Markov models. In this article the authors propose the use of spectrograms of Polish emotional speech as an input for artificial neural network (ANN) to classify the emotions of human. Obtained results show that proposed method has good classification efficiency which reaches the value of 75% or more. The influence of the spectrogram subfields on classification efficiency has been analysed.
