Tor pomiarowy z częstotliwościowym nośnikiem informacji wykazuje liczne zalety, wynikające przede wszystkim z łatwości i wysokiej dokładności przetwarzania częstotliwości w postać cyfrową. Pewną trudność stanowi jednak ocena jego właściwości metrologicznych, szczególnie w stanach dynamicznych. W pracy przedstawia się możliwości zwiększania efektywnej rozdzielczości takiego toru pomiarowego, wykorzystując opracowany algorytm symulacyjny generujący ciąg cyfrowych próbek wartości chwilowych sygnału częstotliwościowego z przetwornika U/F dla zadanego w postaci analitycznej sygnału wejściowego.
The paper presents the issue of digital processing the signals in measurement systems with frequency output sensors. A digital frequency measurement can be made with a high accuracy using a variety of methods. Therefore it is beneficial to use in the measurement system sensors with frequency output, in particular if the processed physical quantity is constant or slowly variable. However, the difficulty appears in dynamic state, since digital measurement of a variable frequency is not always equivalent to its average value measurement. That is why in dynamic states an error related to averaging and the adopted method of assigning results to appropriate instants of time occurs, since the received signal samples are not distributed uniformly over time. A considerable problem in such cases is the assessment of processing errors. A convenient parameter for assessing the quality of such a measurement chain processing is the effective number of bits. The work focuses on verifying the possibility of increasing the effective resolution of the measurement chain with frequency signal by applying appropriate algorithms, in particular optimising the quantification and averaging errors. An own simulation algorithm allowing for obtaining digital samples of the frequency signal instantaneous values from a voltage-to-frequency converter for a known input signal given in analytical form was used. This enables testing various algorithms of digital processing the frequency signals and assessing the errors introduced by them. The work presents the results of the conducted research and the conclusions.
