Large oscillations of a Timoshenko beam under mechanical and thermal loadings are analysed in this paper. The nonuniform temperature distribution along the beam length and thickness is taken into account. The mathematical model is represented by three coupled partial differential equations (PDEs) which include both thermal and mechanical loadings. Then, the problem is reduced to two PDEs which next are projected by linear normal modes into a set of ordinary differential equations (ODEs). The influence of the temperature distribution on the resonance zones and solutions stability is studied numerically and analysis by the multiple time scale method. Detailed vibrations analysis around the first natural frequency for a simply supported composite beam is presented. |
