A model of a nonlinear system composed of a hub with an attached one pendulum or two pendulums rotating in a horizontal plane is studied in the paper. The pendulums are treated as lumped masses fixed to a tip of a stiff and massless rod connected to the hub by a flapping hinge. The system is excited by external torque generated by a DC motor considered in two variants: (a) as an ideal system with torque given by a defined function or (b) as a non-ideal system in which the characteristic of the DC motor is taken into account. A transition through resonances for the model with one and two pendulums for small and large oscillations is studied for both variants. Regions of possible regular synchronized and chaotic motion are presented. |
