This paper presents the results of numerical analysis of the forging process of conical toothed wheels in three operations: initial billet upsetting, perform forming and toothing forging. Obtained results of numerical simulations were verified in industrial conditions, form¬ing conical toothed wheels in three impressions on a crank forging press. The scope of application of products of toothed wheels type was discussed and most commonly used ways of their manufacturing in industrial conditions were characterized. In the result of conducted research works optimal parameters of the forming process were given and phenomena limiting the process stability were determined. Influence of particular parameters of the process on products quality and tools durability was also discussed. Obtained results of research works were very promising and confirmed the rightness of the issue analysis and the necessity of further research works on metal forming processes of toothed wheels rims. |
