Dynamics of a thin-walled composite column under periodically varied in time loading is analysed in the paper. The column consists of three thin rectangular plates constituting a structure with a C-cross-seetton. The nonlinear buckling problem based on Koiter's theory is studied taking into consideration periodically varying axial loading of the column. The dynamic buckling phenomenon is reduced to two interacting modes represented by two nonlinear ordinary differentia! equations having time-periodic coefficients, The transversal response of the column is studied near the principal parametric resonance zones. The mode! is analysed for two variants of a composite ply alignment leading to structural modification and a natural frequency change.
