The obligation to diminish energy consumption from conventional sources is one of the most significant rations of the sustainable development theory. That is why alternative energy sources, like sun energy, become more and more popular for many purposes. The most commonly used system is solar hot water (SHW) production installation. This paper presents the results of environmental analysis of SHW system combined with heating installation in detached house located in Lublin, Poland. The evaluation of traditional methods of water heating together with the alternative technologies like sun energy shows the environmental benefits from solar systems. The techniques used for analysis are the basis of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Global Warming Potential (GWP) to assess greenhouse gases emissions from examined processes. |
