Introduction of sustainable development requires the change in the manner of natural resources exploitation. One of the crucial problems is energy supply and conventional sources exhaustion. Therefore, the renewable energy sources, like solar energy, become more and more popular. However, introduction of such technologies should be always accompanied by investigation of its ecobalance. This paper presents the results of carbon emissions analysis based on life cycle assessment of solar technologies (solar hot water and photovoltaic systems). In comparison with emission indicators for conventional energy sources, the mentioned technologies have both positive carbon balance and can be therefore used to diminish the GHG emission in Polish climate conditions. |
