Chosen results of theoretical-experimental research on rotary compression process of hollow stepped shafts forgings were presented. In the introduction advantages resulting from application of rotary methods of metal forming were described. Next, an innovative method of rotary compression for forming of asymmetrical hollow forgings was proposed. Technological possibilities of the process were shown on the example of forming of a hollow forging of helicopter drive shaft. The analysis of the rotary compression process of the drive shaft hollow forging was conducted in a complex way, modeling the process numerically with the application of finite element method, and later verifying obtained results during experiments in a special forging aggregate for rotary compression. In the result of the conducted research, the possibility of forming of hollow forgings by means of rotary compression was confirmed. |
