In thisworknumericalandexperimentalstudyofthevibrationoflaminatedbeamswithdamage, subjectedtodynamicloadingandtemperaturevariationsispresented. The goalofthestudyistochecktheapplicabilityofthedamagedetectiontechniquebasedonan analysisofthePoincare´ maps ofthebeamresponse.Thegeometricallynonlinearversionofthe Timoshenkobeamtheoryisusedtomodelthebeambehavior.Thedamageisrepresentedasa reductionoftheeffectiveelasticmodulusofthebeammaterialinasmallareaofthestructure. The beamsaresubjectedtoaharmonicloading,leadingtolargeamplitudevibrationsandto temperaturechanges.Themainresultsarefocusedonestablishingtheinfluenceofthedamageon the vibrationresponseofheatedorunheatedstructuresandthechangeinthetime-historydiagrams and thePoincare´ maps,causedbyadamageandelevatedtemperature.Thedamagedetectioncriterion formulatedearlierfornonheatedplates,basedonanalysingofthePoincare´ maps ofthedamagedand healthy plate,ismodifiedandtestedforthecaseofbeamsadditionallysubjectedtoelevated temperatures.Theimportanceoftakingintoaccounttheactualtemperatureintheprocessofdamage detectionisshown.Performedexperimentaltests(byanopticalmethod)confirmtheapplicabilityand sensitivityoftheproposedmethod. |
