The paper deals with computer simulations of dynamic performance of two pole synchronous reluctance motor with axially laminated, anisotropic rotor. Geometry of the rotor was modified so as to create a kind of damping cage made of aluminium layers, expected to enhance stability of the motor during transients. A simplified model including damping circuits was derived and implemented in Matlab/Simulink environment. A series of simulation were performed for different start up parameters (initial voltage, initial frequency, start-up duration), shaft torque step and moment of inertia. The simulation results show a noticeable improving of stability of the motor with modified rotor structure. Especially, even at fast start up and considerably big step of shaft torque, there are very little speed oscillations and the motor is inherently stable. |
