Movies, music, shops, social media, games - all these are available on mobile phones. Let's try to use this addiction also in IT education. Numerical methods course is treated as a difficult and not liked by IT students. In order to support learning and programming of numerical methods, the mobile application was introduced. The application is an extension of the interactive application, presented during INTED2017 and INTED2018 conferences. The main goal of this paper is to present the application but also examine if it really helps students and improves numerical methods teaching process. The article also analyses quantitative indicators comparing the effectiveness of learning and level of satisfaction of students benefiting from the mobile educational application. The research was conducted on randomly selected group of Computer Science students. The results have been also developed using a survey. In the survey, students expressed their opinion on the effectiveness of learning using the mobile application in comparison to traditional teaching methods. |
