Тhe development of civilization and technology is filled our living space with a variety of electromagnetic fields, the sources of which are computers, cell phones, various radiological diagnostic and physiotherapy equipment in medicine, cellular antenna amplifier, etc. Today in Armenia there are 3 mobile network operators: Beeline, VivaCell MTS and Ucom. One of the largest mobile communication operators in Armenia is VivaCell MTS. The company provides services in the sphere of telecommunication and information technologies with biggest number of subscribers exceeding 2million. VivaCell MTS is constantly expanding and developing its services. Today, 4G LTE network covers nearly 50% of Armenia`s territory and the company is planning to expand the coverage throughout the country. Second mobile operator is a Beeline Armenia. The company offers services from fixed telephony to mobile communication of the GSM 900/1800 and 3G standards, as well as high-speed Internet access. After retiring of «Orange Armenia» telecommunications operator a new mobile operator (third operator) –Ucom entered in the market. Ucom previously offered only internet connection services, but with the acquisition of «Orange Armenia» today the company appears as a mobile communication provider as well. So the problem of electromagnetic safety becomes extremely relevant, since the most technical, telecommunication and medical devices radiate mm-wave in the range of 1-300 GHz. Thus, the territory of relatively small Armenia is covered three times by large telecommunication operators, which undoubtedly has a negative impact on human health. In order to study the physiological characteristics of the influence of EHF EMP in the frequency range 45-53 GHz on biological organisms, we used a model system of germinating wheat seed in the early stages of ontogenesis.Plants are outstanding models compared to animals to conduct such investigations: they are immobile and therefore keep a constant orientation in the EMF and their specific scheme of development (high surface area to volume ratio) makes them ideally suited to efficiently intercept EMF.The plant’s ability to respond to stresses largely depends on its capacity to modulate the transcriptome rapidly and specifically. In our study the adaptation of plant to the new abiotic stress, such as emission of extremely high frequency of electromagnetic irradiation (EHF EMI) by modulation of nuclear compartments` composition have been investigated. |
