On grounds of finite elements method, three-dimensional mechanical model of cross wedge rolling process has been developed. Examples of numerical simulation for strain distributions, strain rate, mean stress and rolling load components have been included. By means of cross wedge rolling process model presented herein, forecasting of phenomena limiting forming stability i.e. uncontrolled slipping and core necking is possible. The rolling of reel forging has been presented as more advanced thermo-mechanical model of cross wedge rolling process. |
