The paper deals with physical and mathematical modelling of wind load on a downstream cylinder located in the region of bistable flows between two circular cylinders. The bases of the consideration are dimensional analysis of the problem and quasisteady theoretical approach to the construction of models of wind load on slender structures. Corresponding to the interferential wind load components on the downstream cylinder, the nonlinear and linear forms of the set of equations of cylinder motion were determinated and analysed. Moreover, the reduced critical velocity of self-induced vibrations of the downstream cylinder was evaluated. |
