Measurement of odour quality of air with electronic devices is a task that requires calibration of the apparatus in advance. Calibration uses olfactory measurement results performed with the group of trained people. TGS sensors are often applied to detect the pollution of air with various pollutants. It is pos-sible due to variation of electrical resistivity of the semiconducting sensor in response to the concentration of pollutants. Produced sensors are sensitized to specific pollutants but normally are not very specific. In a paper the measure-ment stand for measurement of odor pollutants concentration with multisensory device is presented and tested. Calibration measurements with the application of n-butanol is shown. Applied set of eight sensors allows to measure n-butanol samples with good accuracy. The setup allows measurements of both static, with a fixed concentration or dynamic by tracking changes in sensor response due to changes in odour pulse concentration change. Dynamic response of sensors makes it possible, in accord-ance with the literature, to measure with application of gas samples of a small volume. For the analysis of measurement results and comparison of different odours PCA method was used, which allows reduction of dimensionality of signal from multi-sensor devices. |
