It is proven that it is possible to improve the quality of antifriction coating applications by creating a favorable geometry of microroughness in previous finishing anti-friction non-abrasive treatments (FANTs). This chapter examines the influence of microroughness shape and size on the formation of an anti-friction coating by simulating the contact interaction of micro-surfaces. An original technique was developed wherein interchangeable cast iron cutters were used. The variation of the geometrical parameters of the cutting part of the cutter, the front cutting angle and the depth of the cut, are caused by their importance in the coating process by the friction-mechanical method. |
