| This paper presents a new method of steel balls forming, which was named helical-wedge rolling (HWR). Two placed askew rolls, on which wedges are coiled in a helical way, are used in this method. Applying finite element method three cases of balls rolling with diameters 40 mm were considered, formed by means of Rolls with wedges with one coil, two coils and three coils. Made in laboratory conditions HWR tests of steel balls confirmed the rightness of the worked out forming method. |
