The paper deals with the application of CNC production processes and the correct choice of
production technology in the production of metal part designed for a new type of extruder. CNC
milling is today the most effective, productive, and flexible manufacturing method for machining
of different surfaces. [1]. The process is a versatile one and has many application areas such as
very simple face milling of flat surfaces or complex machining of free form sculptured surfaces
[2]. As a result, is milling and turning is an extensively used process for manufacturing of
mechanical components in automotive, aerospace, die and mould industries and in industry for
plastic processing area. The usage of CAD/CAM is the most effective solution for the
implementation of technological preparation of production of complex shaped parts [3]. Today's
trend component is machining in one setup, with minimal clamping. This is achieved by the time
reduction of the final machining, while eliminating inaccuracies caused by manual switching of
the part [4]. CAD/CAM systems permit significant improvements in milling and tuning operations,
which can be reflected in reduced machining time and minor finishing operations [3].
