One of the significant factors determining societal acceptance of the use of AI in medical diagnostics is the societal attitude towards technology and the overall level of knowledge. The aim of the conducted survey research on a representative sample of 1063 Poles was to understand their attitudes towards the increasing use of AI in medical diagnostics. The obtained results confirmed that: (i) over 60% of the respondents perceive the need for utilizing AI in medical diagnostics, (ii) respondents’ trust in the use of AI in medical diagnostics is comparable to their trust in a family member or friend and significantly higher than their trust in information from the Internet, (iii) over 80% of respondents indicated that patients should be informed when a doctor uses AI in medical diagnosis, (iv) more than 40% of respondents expressed that they would feel very comfortable or rather comfortable if a doctor utilized AI for diagnosing their medical conditions. |
