Currently, the use of robots constructed to collaborate with humans
(called collaborative robots or cobots) plays a key role in production processes.
The main difference between a classic industrial robot and the cobot is the ability
to interact directly with humans without the need for additional safety units. However,
in order to ensure the appropriate level of cooperation, it is often necessary
to use the relevant industrial automation equipment. Numbers of researchers provide
wide analysis in the subject of production infrastructure utilization to increase
quality of human-robot cooperation. Properly conducted process of the robotic
workstation automated infrastructure programming and utilizing allows to
achieve benefits from the mentioned solution implementation. The aim of this
paper is to find the answer to the question: “Can utilization of industrial automation
equipment reduce the completion time of a robotic assembly process conducted
in condition of human-robot cooperation?” In the research, the quantitative
method and case study were utilized. Based on the analysis carried out, it
should be noticed that industrial automation equipment utilization could result in
processes time reduction conducted in conditions of human-robot cooperation.
The research proved that it is crucial to use workstation automated infrastructure,
which can significantly influence processes.
