| The effect of the corner value in the composite angle made from two materials on the behavior under axial compression was investigated. The research was conducted using ABAQUS software and the finite element method (FEM). The study was performed in two steps: linear analysis (buckling analysis) and post-critical analysis (analysis of the damage mechanism of the structure based on Hashin’s criteria). Configurations made of flax/PLA material exhibited lower critical load values and loss of load-carrying capacity compared to configurations made of flax/epoxy material. An increase in the size of the profile rounding resulted in an increase in the critical load values, but did not increase the load causing the loss of the structure’s load-carrying capacity (and therefore did not extend the structure’s service life). Flax/PLA laminates have lower general compressive strength compared to flax/epoxy matrix laminates. Depending on the required operating range of the structure, the magnitude of the critical load and the equilibrium paths can be adjusted by modifying the radius of the profile corner rounding. |
