| The remanufacturing of complex components plays a key role in a closed-loop economy, contributing to waste reduction, lower production costs and a smaller carbon footprint. The dynamic development of this industry requires the implementation of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) that allow for increased precision, efficiency and automation of remanufacturing processes. The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the literature, focusing on key applications of AI and ML in remanufacturing, such as predictive analytics, process optimization, quality control automation, image recognition, process robotization, additive manufacturing and product design. The analysis identifies a research gap in building sustainable operations management strategies that support the implementation of closed-loop economy principles in the era of Industry 4.0. The analysis points to the need for further research on integrating digital technologies to achieve greater efficiency and sustainability in the remanufacturing sector. |
