| The effect of pine sawdust, sunflower husks, pumpkin husks, nutshells, and flame retardant on the mechanical properties and flammability of LDPE was investigated. Hardness and tensile modu-lus increased with increasing filler content. Simultaneously, tensile strength and elongation at break de-creased. ABH40 flammability class was achieved with asignificant reduction in the linear combustion rate. Self-extinguishing properties were observed at the highest filler content. No effect of filler type or content on the temperature in the combustion zone was observed. |
