The paper presents analysis of the effect of milling tool wear on the dynamics of machining composite materials. The experiment was performed on carbon fiber reinforced and glass fiber reinforced polymer composites. First, experimental tests were conducted and the feed cutting forces were measured. Next, recurrence analysis was applied, and several indicators were selected for monitoring tool wear. It turned out that several of them show the same trend for both materials, while determinism, maximal diagonal length, and laminarity show other trends. In addition, the obtained results were compared with the surface roughness of the machined material, and a correlation between tool wear and surface roughness was observed. Finally, mathematical models of the recurrence indicators were developed as functions of tool wear, cutting speed, and feed rate, enabling both the monitoring of machining stability and tool wear.
