| Connecting new renewable energy sources (RES) when the power system is saturated with these facilities is significantly difficult. A significant number of renewable energy sources connected or planned for connection causes periodic problems with both balance and overload. Attempts to increase the number of new power plants exacerbate these problems, and refusals are often issued due to a lack of technical requirements. Therefore, new methods are being sought to increase the installed capacity of RES sources. One such method may be to increase the connection capacity of existing sources by appropriately selecting their installed capacity. This article presents analyses aimed at determining this capacity based on the assumed probability of annual generation loss. Based on historical data, the installed capacity of the photovoltaic power plant and the energy storage facility were determined. The assumed values for the annual risk of electricity failure have practical justification and are acceptable to investors. The proposed methodology serves as a prelude to further analyses aimed at cooperation of various RES and an electricity storage facility within a single connection. |
