Diploma theses are an important part of the educational process in technical fields, as they enable students to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical design projects. At the same time, the topics of these projects often reflect current technological trends in the IT market. Both the choice of topics and the IT tools used in the theses may indicate students' areas of interest and their desire to develop skills in line with the needs of the modern labour market. In recent years, the dynamic development of technologies related to artificial intelligence (AI) has been particularly noticeable. Solutions based on machine learning, natural language processing, and data analysis are increasingly finding applications across many areas of the economy and social life. The growing importance of these technologies is also reflected in the academic environment, including the topics of theses written by students of computer science. Increasingly, diploma projects involve libraries and tools to create AI-based solutions, integrate ready-made AI models, or implement proprietary algorithms. The aim of this article is to present the results of an analysis of trends in diploma theses completed in the field of Computer Science at the Lublin University of Technology over the last five years. The study analysed the topics of the theses, the keywords assigned to them, and the technologies and tools used during the implementation of the projects. This allowed for the identification of trends in the development of thesis topics and the assessment of the degree of presence of solutions related to artificial intelligence. The results of the analysis provide a better understanding of the directions of development of diploma projects and the degree of adaptation of new technologies in IT education at the engineering and master level. A particularly interesting aspect is the growing presence of artificial intelligence-based solutions, which in recent years has become one of the key areas of development of modern IT systems. This analysis may also provide valuable insights for the design and improvement of educational programs to better address the rapidly evolving needs of the IT market.
