| Innovative models of Human Action Recognition play a primary role in Computer Vision, combining image analysis, machine learning, and time-motion modelling. However, traditional graph convolution methods struggle with accurately capturing subtle spatial-temporal relationships and are sensitive to unwanted fluctuations present in motion capture datasets. Thus, this study proposes a novel Spatial-Temporal Graph Convolutional Neural Network employing a convolution layer with fuzzy logic integrated with a separate residual attention mechanism for classifying tennis movements based on 3D motion capture data, improving the model’s robustness against spatial disturbances and strengthening feature extraction. Experiments on THETIS, Tennis-Mocap, and 3DTennisDS datasets confirm the effectiveness of the proposed architecture, achieving remarkable classification performance. Interpretability of the model’s decision-making process highlights the key and relevant motion segments influencing the classification of tennis movements. The results are stable and reliable across experiments, which overall supports its trustworthiness. |
