The paper presents how the filling process in a propane-butane fuelled engine is modelled. The modelling of a geometry employs a real 4-cylinder SI engine with a 2 dm3 displacement. The AVL Fire software is used for engine modelling and simulations. Fuel mass supplied to a cylinder is identical for all of the cases. The study is performed for several injector opening times and some values of injection mass flow rate. The study examines how the fuel deposition in a combustion chamber is impacted by an gas mass flow rate in an injector. A change in an injection course is demonstrated to influence fuel distribution in a cylinder. Also, fuel concentration near a spark plug is specified. |
