Properties of polymer materials surface are very important in constituting adhesive joints. Fine polyamide PA6 is a material that needs surface layer modification to provide proper condition of adhesion joints. In this paper the results of surface free energy properties of modified polyamide PA6 by ozonation process were presented. Surface free energy of the surface layer was measured twofold: after roughening by abrasive cloth of the granularity p=320 and after ozonation process which lasted for 5, 10, 20 and 30 minutes with the concentration of 7 gO3/m3. A comparison of the results was made which proved the ozonation process to be an effective method for surface layer modifications. This and other advantages make the ozonation very useful in practical applications. |
